This brings even more complications if one takes into account that Argentina is the eighth country in the world in territorial extension and has its industry located in different regions. On this point, Leandro Mora Alfonsindirector of Regional and Sectoral Development, in charge of the program, told Ámbito: “It will be a policy with federal criteria, so that the companies of the different provinces do not have to go far to certify their products, or that they do not have to go to other neighboring countries as is the case today”.
The Quality Strengthening Program aims to reverse the current situation so that more companies can export to the world. With this focus, Non-Reimbursable Contributions will be granted for up to 70% of the expenses related to the accreditation or re-accreditation of national laboratories and the extension of scope before the Argentine Accreditation Agency. “The infrastructure of the Argentine quality system has been abandoned for decades, today we have the first component of the plan on the street. With this, consumers are taken care of and markets can be won,” said Mora Alfonsín
To access this benefit, the requesting laboratories must be within the National Registry of Certifiers and Testing and Calibration Laboratories and in the Single Registry of the Productive Matrix. As reported by the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Knowledge Economy “Those projects that generate an impact on the value chain of the productive sectors will be prioritized, that have the capacity to export testing and calibration services, that promote the federalization of the quality infrastructure and that certify tests with export potential or that generate an impact on environmental sustainability”.
The announcement was made in Mar del Plata during a tour of the clinical analysis division of the Fares Taie laboratory, which specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of diseases. The presentation was led by the Secretary for Industry, Knowledge Economy and External Commercial Management, Ariel Schale, and the Undersecretary for Industry, Julieta Loustau. Also participating in the event were the national director of Regional and Sectoral Development, Leandro Mora Alfonsín; the Director of Sectoral Development, Mariángel Ghilardi Sierra; the coordinator of the Argentina Quality Plan, Pablo Barreto; the president of the Argentine Accreditation Body (OAA), Marcelo Kloster, among others.
