Austrian Airlines (AUA) are flying to Los Angeles again. After a two-year break, a Boeing 777 set course for the Californian metropolis again on Friday morning. The connection will initially be operated five times a week as OS 081 / 082 in the summer timetable, and six times from July.
It means “a lot to fly back to Los Angeles after the long period of the pandemic, when transatlantic traffic came to a standstill,” said Sales Director Michael Trestl before the first AUA machine took off to the US west coast in almost two and a half years. “We are pleased about the upswing in the USA.”
North America will be the long-haul growth market in 2022, said Airport CEO Julian Jäger. The demand is very strong. In general, he expects 80 percent of the seat capacity to be used in the current year compared to the pre-crisis level, says Jäger.
