Aircraft manufacturer: Airbus delivers fewer aircraft in July

The pandemic is having a huge impact on the air industry. In July, the number of aircraft sales at Airbus dropped significantly. Nevertheless, the plans for the coming years remain optimistic.

The aircraft manufacturer Airbus again handed over significantly fewer jets to its customers in July.

With 47 machines, the number of deliveries was well below the 77 units in June, as the company announced in Toulouse. Although the group received orders for two commercial aircraft despite the Corona crisis, orders for seven jets were canceled.

Airbus boss Guillaume Faury wants to hand over around 600 commercial aircraft to his customers in the current year, slightly more than the 566 aircraft from Corona year 2020. The number of 863 jets delivered from the record year 2019 remains a long way off. After the first seven months of the year, 344 have now been completed. Because of the corona pandemic, the group has cut its production by around 40 percent, but is expanding it a little in the second half of the year and wants to ramp it up sharply in the coming years.
