Consumer confidence rose in May for the first time in four months

Opening it up in regional terms, The Interior is the one that shows the greatest year-on-year variation, 3.5%, followed by GBA, 2.8%, while in CABA confidence fell 0.6% compared to May 2021.

Regarding the components of the index, heterogeneous variations are observed. While the The Personal Situation and Macroeconomic Situation sub-indices fell 0.4% and 2.7% respectively, the Durable Goods and Real Estate sub-index rose 11.4%, always compared to the previous month.

By income level of the individual, confidence fell 0.5% in the lowest-income group of consumersand rose 3.5% in consumers with a higher income level, always with respect to the month of April.

The last aspect to analyze is a monthly rise in the Present Conditions component (9%), while the Future Expectations component fell 3.2%.
