Massa promotes tax relief for the self-employed and monotributistas

On the one hand, according to Massismo sources, it plans to advance to July part of the annual update of the monotax, which is done on January 1 of each year according to the retirement mobility formula.

As in the first semester the salaries paid by the ANSES accumulated a rise of 29.1%, the project aims that this percentage be used to update the billing scales of the different categories of the Monotax from next July 1. That is, just before the monotributistas have to carry out the recategorization.

“It will not include an increase in the monthly installments to be paid, but only an update of the maximum billing limits is sought so that the 4.5 million monotributistas do not have to jump to a larger scale or be left out of the Simplified Regime if their billing it grew in nominal terms due to high inflation,” the sources pointed out.

With respect to the self-employed who are reached by Earnings (about 140,000 taxpayers), the initiative proposes to increase deductions “so that the non-taxable minimum is more equitable or closer to that applied by employees in a dependency relationship.”
The measure that is under study, and that according to Massa was discussed on Friday with President Alberto Fernández, seeks to equate the deductions of the self-employed with that of employees in a dependency relationship, but without losing sight of the fact that the majority of these independent workers, Basically professionals, they can make other deductions that the law does not allow employees in a dependency relationship.
The next step that is projected is to establish an adjustment mechanism that is based on salary evolution or the mobility formula, which until now determines the amounts that these taxpayers must pay monthly as a retirement contribution.

On Friday, the Government announced that the income floor for wage earners will rise by decree starting in June from the current $225,937 gross monthly to $280,792.
