The Polish furniture retailer and furniture manufacturer operates 93 of its own locations, 79 of which are in Poland, and employs around 7,900 people in the branch business and in production. The competition authorities still have to approve the share takeover, XXXLutz said in a broadcast on Monday. No information was given about the purchase price. As a furniture manufacturer, the BRW Group has over 370 sales partners in Poland and exports its own products to more than 50 countries worldwide. “The XXXLutz Group and the BRW Group have agreed to enter into a strategic partnership in order to be successful together, especially in the Polish furniture retail market,” commented XXXLutz company spokesman Thomas Saliger on the acquisition. The aim is “to act with international growth opportunities in the long term”. The BRW furniture production companies are to continue to operate independently and autonomously, and the management of the Polish furniture group is also to remain in office.
The XXXLutz Group based in Wels (Upper Austria) has over 370 furniture stores in 13 countries and operates numerous of its own online shops. Annual sales recently amounted to 5.3 billion euros, making the domestic group one of the three largest furniture retailers in the world. The Möbelix and Mömax brands also belong to XXXLutz.
