The cross-docking area grew by around 2,400 to 8,400 square meters. Erik Leiss, Managing Director Austria, said in a press release on Monday that the terminal in Linz-Hörsching is an important location in Austria and throughout Europe due to the high level of dynamism in the economic region of Upper Austria and its central location.
Around 8 million euros were invested in the expansion of the cross-docking area and the construction of 71 new loading locks, so-called loadhouses, the renovation of the existing hall floor, the loading yard and the asphalt surfaces including the access road. The company announced that the existing terminal was optimized by a further EUR 2 million. Schenker employs around 76,100 people at over 1,850 locations in over 130 countries.
