The dimension of the deviations detected makes it possible to anticipate that these procedures will give rise to charges in the millions for the non-payment of export duties and for abuses in international operations between companies of the same economic groups.

The witness price of 53 dollars per kilogram of lithium carbonate is for exports destined for Canada, the United States, Hong Kong, South Korea, China, the Philippines, Japan, Taiwan and Thailand.

The measure not only addresses the problem of lithium but is part of the process of reestablishing foreign trade control tools. Since the Marcó del Pont administration began, the DGA has established reference values for more than 20 exporting complexes.

The tool strengthens the state’s capacity to control foreign trade and prevents under-invoicing maneuvers in foreign sales.
