During the tour that the governor made through Loma Campana, in Vaca Muerta, together with Affronti, he was able to observe the technology and the positive impact generated by unconventional development, where the oil company leads the activity, contributing 60% of the production and 30 % of unconventional gas in the country.
In the first quarter of this year, YPF’s unconventional crude oil production showed a 52% growth while unconventional gas production increased 140%.
“We take with us the commitment of the directors of YPF that in October of this year the exploration tasks will begin in the south of our province. If the exploration is positive, the investment will generate a very important change for all Mendoza,” Suarez pointed out.
Affronti, for his part, highlighted: “We have ratified our investment commitment in the province of 355 million dollars for this year.”
In this sense, the CEO of the oil company pointed out that “a very important investment project for the company for 590 million dollars has begun, of which 60 million dollars will be disbursed this year.”
“In the south of the province -he added- we have been drilling wells in the Cerro Morado Este deposit. There are 10 line wells and we are beginning to inject polymers to obtain production with tertiary recovery.”
The exploratory wells that will be drilled towards the end of the year, and which will be fractured at the beginning of the next, would serve to test the Vaca Muerta formation in the south of the province, this would open a horizon for the drilling and exploitation of 150 wells in two blocks , which would generate unprecedented activity.
