The monetary reform proposed by Martín Tetaz to eradicate inflation

In statements to LN+, Tetaz remarked that with this recipe, inflation can be eliminated in a short period of time: “The same time that Chile, Peru, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Brazil took”, he highlighted. For the economist, “it can be eradicated in a short time” if some changes are applied.

For them, he explained, “The only thing to do is a monetary reform. In the first year since applied, you will already be able to notice a drastic drop” in the inflationary level, indicated Martin Tetaz this Tuesday.

Last November, the deputy of JxC presented in Congress a monetary reform project to lower inflation. This consisted of giving independence to the Central Bank. In the breakdown, Tetaz explained that his proposal is that “the president of the Central Bank is no longer elected by the president of the Republic.”

In the initiative, the radical economist maintained, “it is the Congress that would elect him”, therefore “the actions of the president of the BCRA when making decisions about monetary financing”, he detailed. According to Martin Tetaz“it is the only way in which we are going to be able to end inflation,” he said.
