Why lack diesel in Argentina

It was indicated that the trucks are expected at the oil companies for their attention points dedicated to the agricultural business, but they end up parked in lines to load diesel at the stations, where it is cheaper.

Almost a third of the diesel consumed in the country is imported, and buying abroad has become complicated, due to shortages or very high prices, due to the conflict in Ukraine.

The diesel supply problems are occurring mainly in Buenos Aires, The Pampa and other regions of agricultural activity, such as Missions Y currentsalthough the companies there blame trucks from neighboring countries that come to load the country because it is cheaper for them.

The agricultural activity is supposed to get the fuel through these points of sale, but YPF pointed out that it comes with a 2% reduction in demand, and instead, the retail channel (service stations) is collapsed.

There is 12% more demand than usual, due to a shift in wholesale consumers, who are looking for lower prices at the pumps. There are trucks trying to load at the stations, when they should be supplied by the wholesale channels. There would be the cause of the missing.

Meanwhile, the prices of energy products fly: fuels rose more than 50% in some countries, and Argentina imports a third of the LNG it consumes.

The increase in prices means that selling diesel purchased abroad at current local prices is not profitable for the oil companies, although they assure that it is difficult for them to obtain it.
