Furniture giant Ikea is recalling its Metallisk espresso maker for safety reasons. The group announced on Wednesday that there was an increased risk that the product could burst during use.
Ikea is recalling an espresso maker. The Group is asking all customers who have purchased a “Metallisk” 0.4L espresso maker with stainless steel safety valve date stamped between 2040 and 2204 (YYWW) to stop using it and return the product to Ikea for a full refund, such as it says in a statement on Wednesday. Safety concerns are the reason for the recall. “There is an increased risk that the product could burst during use,” it said.
This risk stems from a change in the material and construction of the safety valve, so only the products with the stainless steel safety valve (silver/grey color) are affected by this recall.

Ikea will refund the full purchase price
Corresponding espresso makers can be returned to any Ikea furniture store for a refund of the full purchase price. A proof of purchase is therefore not required.
For Ikea, safety and health are the top priority, the group lets it be known. For this reason, the “Metallisk” 0.4 l espresso maker with stainless steel safety valve with date stamps between 2040 and 2204 (YYWW) is being recalled.
