Province launched credits for cattle producers in the southwest of Buenos Aires

“When we think about the development of the province of Buenos Aires, we have to understand that there are regional and territorial differences, and that if the starting points are different, then the policies have to be differentiated for each region and also for each sector. That is the way in which we are going to achieve more egalitarian growth in the province.“, expressed the Minister of Agrarian Development, Javier Rodríguez, when making the announcement.

The Buenos Aires minister explained that “that is why We created a specific line of financing to strengthen bovine activity in the southwest of Buenos Aires by promoting the implantation of perennial pastures, improving productivity and taking care of the soil at the same time”.

Rodríguez participated today in a meeting of the Regional Council for the Development of the area.

What does financing consist of?

The Financing Line for the implantation of Pastures in the southwest of Buenos Aires It will be aimed at producers who seek to increase the forage resource through the implementation of perennial pastures..

The initiative includes four sublines differentiated by zone, adapted to the different climatic characteristics, soil and productive needs.

  1. The Ventania subline (Guaminí, Coronel Pringles, Coronel Suárez, Coronel Dorrego, Adolfo Alsina and Saavedra) offers financing equivalent to up to 15 hectares of pasture (alfalfa, lotus, cebadilla, orchard grass, wheatgrass or other species) for an amount of up to 600,000 pesos per producer.
  2. The Semi-arid subline (Puan, Tornquist, Bahía Blanca and Coronel Rosales) includes financing equivalent to up to 25 hectares of pasture (alfalfa, fescue, wheatgrass, weeping grass or other species) with amounts of up to $1,000,000.
  3. Meanwhile, the Corfo subline (low irrigation zone) offers financing equivalent to up to 15 hectares of pasture (alfalfa or other species) for a total amount of up to $600,000.
  4. Lastly, the Patagonian subline of credit (Villarino and Carmen de Patagones) contemplates financing equivalent to up to 30 hectares of pasture (agropiro, weeping grass) for an amount of up to $1,200,000.

As specified by the portfolio, in all cases, the line is at zero rate in product value, with a six-month grace period and semi-annual installments.

The objective of the credit tool is to generate benefits for the producers of the southwest of Buenos Aires in terms of the security and efficiency of the forage resource for the implementation of their cattle and to achieve an economic improvement by increasing the productive and reproductive indexes of the system, in addition to taking care of the soil and promote good management by increasing the area allocated to the implantation of pastures.

The head of the agrarian portfolio explained that those interested in accessing this line of financing will be able to submit the application and complete the forms from next July 4 and until September 2.
