Before the businessmen of the sector, led by the head of the chamber, Gustavo Weiss, Katopodis maintained that the country is “in a hinge timeleaving behind a moment of uncertainty and pain, with the ability to project into the future” and added: “We need to be able to project, think about Argentina. We need development-oriented investment. They can’t be words or sayings”.

“Having put the political will and guaranteeing decisions from day one, acting responsibly and seriously, we have recovered the sector and employment,” he said.

The head of public workss was pronounced in this way during a face-to-face work meeting with the members of Camarco that was held at the headquarters of that business entity and in which associates from all provinces participated virtually.

“What the country needs, and not this government, is for Argentine workers to earn more,” stressed the minister, who also stressed that businessmen in the construction sector “have been beneficiaries of this model, where public works and investment in infrastructure was once again a priority”.

At the meeting, some “encouraging figures” of the activity were reviewed, such as the 8.8% rise in the sector in April 2022 compared to the same month in 2021, and 5.4% compared to the month above, and at the same time the 3.1% cumulative increase in the original series index in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021.

A) Yes, the first quarter of the year ended with a marked increase in the sectoral employment levelwhich translated into the generation of 23,500 new jobs, and 17 jurisdictions in the country showed employment growth rates above 2% per month in March, while the number of active employers increased by 4.8% in the fourth month of the year.

In this framework, Katopodis pointed out: “We generated a public investment agenda in infrastructure throughout the country, in a federal, transparent manner that has allowed us to have more than 5,000 works today and that their companies are once again in a position to compete.”

At the end of the intervention, Katopodis highlighted that “the 400,000 jobs are a clear example of what has happened in construction. We recovered the sector, economic activity and employment in a sustained manner. Today there is work in Argentina and in construction”.
