Wholesale prices increased 5.2% in May, according to INDEC

In this way, In the first five months of the year, the Wholesale Price Index increased 28.7% and construction 22.4%, indicated the agency.

In the last twelve months, wholesale prices rose 54.8% and construction 49.7%, INDEC said.

The body concluded the dissemination of the indices related to the evolution of prices in May, which began last Tuesday when it announced the variation of the retail index or Cost of Living, which marked a monthly increase of 5.1%, 29.3% so far this year and 60.7% in the last 12 months.

The rise in wholesale prices in May was driven by a rise of 5.2% in Primary Products, 5.3% in Manufactured Products, 4.7% in Imported Products, and 29.8% in the cost of electricity.

Meanwhile, the general level of Construction cost index (ICC) in Greater Buenos Aires registered a rise of 6.2% compared to the previous month, as a result of the 4.4% rise in the “Materials” chapter; 8.2% in “Manpower” and 5.8% in the item “General expenses”.
