The Province registered historical exports of fuels and energy in April

Along the same lines, it was detailed that exports had a year-on-year growth of 37.7% compared to the same month of 2021 and 57.6% compared to 2019, and that the Province contributed, during the fourth month of the year, 35, 6% of the value of the country’s external sales.

The greatest contribution came from Fuels and Energy (47.9%), followed by the category of Manufactures of Industrial Origin (40.2%).

“The export performance of the Province continues to break historical records; the levels of the first quarter of 2022 exceed by more than US$2,000 million those of 2012, the best year in terms of exports of the Province”, said in a statement the Minister of Treasury and Finance, Pablo Lopez.

He stressed that “This export performance contributes to the economic development of our province and the country. We will continue to dedicate all our management efforts to deepen the international commercial insertion and the Buenos Aires export profile”, he claimed

The Provincial Exports report carried out by the Provincial Statistics Directorate of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance showed that the year-on-year increases in April were driven by the four main items:

  • Manufactures of Agricultural Origin, with sales of US$966 million and an increase of 18.3% compared to April 2021;
  • Primary Products, with sales of US$860 million and an increase of 51.6%;
  • Manufactures of Industrial Origin, which had sales of US$830 million and registered an increase of 34.5%;
  • Fuels and Energy, with sales for US$307 million and an increase of 95.9%.

Sales of Primary Products, Fuels and Energy and Manufactures of Agricultural Origin had, in turn, the best April in the series.

The main area of ​​destination for Buenos Aires exports was Brazil, with 20.3% and sales of US$601 million, which implies an interannual increase of 43.4%; and in second place was China, with a 6.6% share in Buenos Aires exports, reaching US$ 196 million and an interannual increase of 16.1%.
