Both provincial agriculture and livestock are consolidated, and their transversal value-added industries, which transform grains into protein, present excellent opportunities. The data is conclusive: 753,140 tons of wheat and 2,537,318 tons of corn from the Argentine thick harvest are from the Pampas. The production of 88,211 tons of oil in 2021 places it in fourth place behind Santa Fe, Buenos Aires and Córdoba. It is the fifth province with the largest livestock stock after Buenos Aires, Santa Fé, Córdoba and Entre Ríos, representing 6% of the national total. 396,000 heads slaughtered in 2021 and 480,000 liters of milk produced per day in our dairy farms. The knowledge industries are also an opportunity to provide solutions in technological services with quality human resources, thus replacing functions that leading European providers today are not able to afford.
In 2021, the value of Pampas exports grew 28%, reaching a record level. It should be noted that provincial exports have recorded significant growth in the last four years, much higher than the country’s total: 113% vs. 26%, respectively.
The ICOMEX Investment and Foreign Trade Agency of La Pampa has focused on enhancing regulatory, fiscal and financial benefits to attract productive integrations in key areas to expand this framework and to stimulate the diversification of the Pampas economic matrix.
The benefit formula for the investment is based on the tools of Banco de La Pampa, which finances the projects; Fogapam, which offers guarantees for access to credit; from the Ministry of Production, which contributes its strategic vision and subsidizes 15 interest rate points in its various credit lines, and from the National University of La Pampa, which together with the rest of the institutions make up a project evaluation table to support to the investment plan for export. Added to these incentives is the program to strengthen work with subsidies for hiring personnel, a package of tax incentives that include a reduction in the Gross Income Tax rates of up to 30% and the reduction and/or elimination of the remaining provincial taxes to moderate the fiscal burden, and the benefits of the General Pico Free Trade Zone, with special tax, customs, foreign exchange, foreign trade and capital investment regulations with multiple facilities for the establishment of companies.
The truth is that the results of this work have been very favorable: in 2021 we achieved the completion of 17 projects and Private Investment with an estimated investment of $1,133 million in the provincial economy, which allowed the generation of 257 new jobs in the region. , and we project a consistent growth for this 2022.
According to information from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the war brought about a rise in food prices in the world as a result of the shortage of supply. From La Pampa we have a solid and effective opportunity to contribute to the expansion of Argentine markets abroad and take advantage of this historical context. It is a unique opportunity: invest in La Pampa to reach the world.
