In the special session of the National Council (Live stream from 12 p.m) the following measures are decided:
- 300 euros for particularly affected groups (Minimum pensioners, recipients of study grants, recipients of social assistance, etc.). Payment is made automatically in summer.
- 500 euros for everyone: Of which 250 euros climate bonus and 250 euros bonus for all adults (half for children each). This amount is to be paid out in October 2022.
- 180 euros as an additional one-time payment of family allowance in August.
- 2,000 euros increased family bonus (instead of 1,500) and increased child allowance of 550 euros (instead of 450) for the whole of 2022. Payment will be made in 2023.
- extension of screens (Protection against evictions).
- Of the Digi check for apprentices (up to 3 times 500 euros per year) will be extended until 2024.
- 500 euros one-time cost-of-living deduction for 2022. Between 1,100 and 1,800 euros income, the 500 euros are fully effective, below there is a loop-in by the SV cover, above that there is a loop-in regulation of up to 2,500 euros.
- Employee bonus of 3,000 euros Tax and duty-free and SV contribution-free.
- Postponement of CO2 pricing from July to October 2022.
The special session on Thursday is necessary because all of these measures must be in the Federal Law Gazette by June 30th.
Relief in three stages
In the summer, the first step will be to relieve those people who are most affected by the current rise in prices – socially disadvantaged people and families. This group should experience rapid, noticeable relief.
- 300 euros inflation adjustment
- “Special family allowance” in the amount of 180 euros per child in August
- increase Residential screen against evictions by 60 million euros
- Increase in Family Bonus Plus to 2,000 euros
In the autumn the relief should take effect across the board, since the rise in prices is now also clearly noticeable in small and medium-sized businesses.
