“It is also not reasonable to establish a witness company since the Government has full control. On the one hand, the Government publishes the FOB price, an index that is the reference for paying export duties, as well as disseminating the prices and volumes of market operations via Sio Grains. It also registers all export contracts and authorizes them; it quotas the export of corn and wheat to allow sufficient volume of national consumption, and exercises the shortest terms in the world in foreign currency income. In short, the Argentine State is the most present of all the grain and derivative exporting countries“, they point out.
“The soybean crushing industry has been stagnant for ten years with half of its idle capacity due to the lack of a policy that promote its cultivation and industrialization. Today the largest tax burden in the Argentine economy is on the soybean value chain and there are no new technologies. The State should work to resolve these problems so that the country’s leading foreign exchange contributor grows instead of spending taxpayers’ taxes on private company operations,” the statement continued.
“From CIARA-CEC we understand that Argentina is in a pressing and cyclical situation of inflation, but we want to state that we will not accompany the implementation of measures that have already proven to be inefficient and inconducive. On the contrary, this impetus should be directed to the solution of inconveniences that hinder the development and growth of the agribusiness sector provided for in the Regime for the Promotion of Agroindustrial Development, whose sanction would allow exports to increase by 100 billion dollars and generate more than 250,000 jobs throughout the country,” they conclude.
