Unemployment remained at 7% and the employment rate marked the best quarter since 2016

As for the population that has a job, this figure rises to 12.6 million. Of which 73.5% are employees, about 9.2 million citizens. The employed population is divided into: 53.2% underemployed, 26.8% overemployed, 10.8% full and 10.2% did not work during the week.

Of the total employed, 3.3 million do not have a retirement discount, while 5.9 million do. In turn, 26.5% of the total are non-salaried, some 3.3 million citizens. As to the unemployed, in the first quarter, remained at 900,000 people who actively seek work and do not find it.

In the year-on-year comparison, “the unemployed experienced a positive dynamic showing a decrease of 3.2 percentage points, placing at the lowest level since the start of the series in 2016. For its part, in quarterly terms, the level of the fourth quarter of 2021 was maintained.
