The leading index coped well with weak mood data from the German economy. It only fell briefly in the morning to another low since early March. On a weekly basis, there is currently a loss of 0.8 percent.
The MDax of medium-sized stocks increased by 1.05 percent to 26,778.78 points in the afternoon. The Eurozone leading index EuroStoxx 50 gained 1.6 percent.
Merck KGaA at the top of the Dax
Shares in the healthcare sector in particular contributed to the recovery in the Dax, recovering from previous losses, some of which were high. With Merck KGaA, Siemens Healthineers, Sartorius, Qiagen, FMC and their parent company Fresenius, there were six titles among the 15 biggest winners. Deutsche Post shares, on the other hand, rose by 1.5 percent. They benefited from the annual report of US competitor Fedex. This achieved significantly more sales in the most recent financial quarter and the operating profit also increased.
The euro rate rose. The common currency was trading at $1.0525 in the early afternoon. The European Central Bank set the reference rate at $1.0493 on Thursday. The current yield on the bond market remained at 1.36 percent. The Rex pension index rose slightly by 0.04 percent to 133.11 points. The Bund future fell by 0.29 percent to 147.19 points.
