The next major project of the Innviertler mechanical engineering company Fill GmbH in Gurten is in the starting blocks: the Power Cube. The building is intended to improve the parking and logistics situation, provide energy and will offer relaxation areas for employees and the people of Gurten. Fill will invest around 30 million euros in the coming years.
The new building will be built on developed company premises. “On 25,000 square meters of gray asphalt and not on a green field,” says managing director and owner Andreas Fill. In order to be able to realize the project, a municipal council decision was required to build over the municipal road leading past in order to create additional parking spaces.
This gave rise to the idea for the much more extensive project: “A multi-storey car park alone would have been too boring for Fill anyway, so there had to be more of it,” says Andreas Fill. Construction is due to start this year. The first step is the expansion of the logistics area planned for autumn. A parking deck with five floors and 550 parking spaces will be built in 2023, in the following year a new service center for employees (120 jobs will be created) and the public will be built on the roof floor. “A four-sided courtyard is being built on the roof at a height of 20 meters, which is to become a service area for the region,” says Fill: with a garden, offices, pub and rooms for cosmetics, hairdressing, fitness and physiotherapy. The house itself supplies the energy. “It is designed as an active house, with the roof and facade serving as energy producers with an integrated photovoltaic system.”

With a new bonus model, the company offers all employees a special incentive: ten percent of the company’s earnings are paid out to everyone as a bonus.
One million euros as a bonus
“This year that’s more than one million euros,” says Andreas Fill. This rewards performance, commitment and commitment in all areas of the company. Annual sales should be around 200 million euros this year (2021: 180 million euros).
