During the meeting, the authorities of the automaker explained the progress of the “Renaulution” Strategic Plan under the Resurrection, Renovation and Revolution axes, reaffirmed Argentina as one of the main strategic markets in the region for the group and pointed out that the company aspires to recover the relevance it had in our country.
“We are committed to moving forward with a new platform in Argentina with the integration of 35 percent of components from the local industry, an initiative that Renault has never done”said José Vicente de los Mozos, and explained: “We want Argentina, which has a very important reserve and good quality of lithium carbonate, to be a supplier for Renault”, within the framework of its commitment to sustainable mobility.
The minister was accompanied by the Secretary of Industry, Knowledge Economy and External Commercial Management, Ariel Schale, and the Secretary of Mining, Fernanda Ávila. The president of Renault Latin America, Luiz Fernando Pedrucci, and the president and CEO of Renault Argentina, Pablo Sibilla, also participated on behalf of the company.
Pedrucci confirmed that “Regional integration is essential based on a specialization strategy, where each country will have a role within the company’s production structure and guarantee the exchange of vehicles between countries. Colombia, Brazil and Argentina are going to be part of this strategic exchange ecosystem”.
Meanwhile, Sibilla confirmed: “We have a factory that will be working in 2 shifts, which produces 438 vehicles per day, 77,000 in total, including those we manufacture for Nissan. We manufacture the greatest diversity of vehicles and employ 2,700 workers. With this strategic plan we hope to produce more, generate more sources of employment and expand exports”.
