Martín Guzmán met with the World Bank and extended credits for projects

During the meeting, the vice president of the World Bank told the minister the commitment that the organization continues to have with the country, and highlighted the support for the different programs underway and the good pace of disbursements during 2021 and 2022.

Debt: Guzmán travels next week to meet with the Paris Club

After a day where the dollar climbed to a new record, the Minister of Economy, Martin Guzmanwill travel to France to hold formal negotiations with the paris club. The meeting is scheduled for next Wednesday, July 6, reported from the Palacio de Hacienda, with the aim of restructuring the agreement for the debt with creditors in 2014.

Thus, Guzman will leave for French lands next week, on a special mission that will have the challenge of negotiating the debt agreement with the paris club. This was agreed by the minister with authorities of the agency, in a dialogue that they held in the last few hours.

The restructuring of the 2014 Joint Statement it is considered critical, in order to reestablish relations with the export credit agencies that form part of the club. This issue is important for the Government, given that restructuring the debt with the Parisians would be a positive boost in the current global scenario, as a sign of confidence to generate investment development opportunities in the energy sector.

Investments in the energy sector they are a key point for the Government, in the context of the conflicts generated by problems in the supply of diesel. For a week, different parts of the country have been affected by the strike of cargo carriers, which generates several complications. Among them, the lack of distribution of raw materials, crops, products and the shipment of grains to the ports, which affects the income of foreign exchange due to the fall in the amount of exported resources.
