City authorized a 15% increase in July

In this context, the authorities of the educational institutions that have a subsidy have already begun to communicate the new values to the families of the students.

The increase authorized by the management of Horacio Rodríguez Larreta is not the first in this 2022: the fees increased their value by 10% in March, 9% in April and now 15% in July. A new increase is also expected in October.

More increases in City

There are four other increases that are being prepared for next month in the Federal Capital:

  • Prepaid: in July a third increase will become effective that the prepaid medicine sector has already authorized. Quotas will increase their value by 4%, after increases of 8% in May and 10% in June. Updates in their entirety reach 43% so far in 2022.
  • water rates: The Ministry of Public Works made official that AySA will apply an adjustment of 32% during 2022, in two tranches. The first increase will be 20% in July and then there will be a 10% cumulative in October. The rate update is in line with the formal proposal presented by the company during the last public hearing that took place last May. Malena Galmarini, president of the entity, warned that the rise is “symbolic” and that it is below the increases corresponding to the energy companies. For this reason, a new increase before the end of the year is not ruled out.
  • Rentals: In July, the second annual update will take place since the Rental Law was sanctioned, while Congress debates its modification. How will it impact? a contract that in July 2021 had a monthly value of $30,000 will go to $44,468. That is, an increase of 48.23%.
  • Subsidy removal: Through a decree, the Buenos Aires government communicated the segmentation of benefit cuts. In this way, it is expected that 10% of users will have the full rate.
