It almost looks like a sun, the ranking in which the JKU is again the national leader this year. The U-Multiranking, which evaluates 2,200 universities from 96 countries, does not work with ranking lists; instead, the respective indicators are presented in a “sunburst”. The “ranking” is based on five dimensions, which are represented in the “Sunburst” by 29 indicators. Grades are given for these – from A (“very good”) to E (“poor”).
This year, the JKU again achieved a total of 19 A and B indicators – a very good rating in international and national comparison. With three A indicators and three B indicators each, it did particularly well in the performance areas “Research” and “Internationality”. In the “Regional Commitment” category, the JKU was able to confirm its good ratings from the previous year.
“The results again confirm that we are on the right track,” says Rector Meinhard Lukas. “The goal is clearly defined: top European rankings.” The new university could become a “carrier rocket”.
