“We held a meeting with the President in the morning in Olivos and now in the afternoon, and we are sure that the growth of Argentina has to do with the fiscal management of our accounts, with following the economic program that the President came marking and achieve more exports and revalue our currency”, affirmed Batakis.
In that sense, he pointed out that this goal is achieved “through obtaining more reserves and more exports, which implies not only strengthening the currency, but also creating more jobs throughout our country.”
Regarding the fiscal plan, at night, in an interview on C5N, he stated that a path to balance “will help to have a more normal country in terms of inflation.” “You can’t live in permanent deficit,” he added. In addition, he pointed out that in order to combat the rise in prices, it is necessary to use all the instruments and mentioned the (positive) interest rate, the assets for savings in pesos and also the price agreements. “The dialogue with businessmen is going to be permanent; my idea is to start tomorrow (for today)”, he said. And he announced that he will speak today with the IMF.
“We want from the beginning of this government administration to have a vision that is truly federal, that includes each and every Argentine woman, and doing so is also freeing up the amount of enormous resources that our country has and making it available for that path of growth. ”, pointed out the new minister in La Rosada.
“That is going to be the task to which I am going to be devoted and it is also what the President asked me to do. These are basically the three axes with which we are going to start, which have to do with this solvency of the Argentine State, with that economic program that we are going to continue. I believe in fiscal balance and I think we have to move in that direction”, he explained.
