Fuel prices will drop next Monday. The change will be more pronounced for diesel, which is expected to drop eight cents per liter, while gasoline could fall as much as three cents, according to industry sources.
Based on information collected by the Directorate General of Energy and Geology, the average price per liter of diesel fuel at the national level during this week was about two euros, so from Monday it should fall to an average of about 1.92 euros. On the other hand, plain gasoline 95 could drop from 2.1 euros per liter to around 2.07 euros.
The ISP rebate, equivalent to lowering the VAT rate from 23% to 13%, will remain in place in July and August, the Finance Ministry said on Friday.
Taking into account the measures created by the Government to mitigate the increase in fuel prices, the tax burden will be reduced by 28.2 cents per liter of diesel fuel and 32.1 cents per liter of gasoline. This discount will be reviewed in August.
