Why do prepaid fees go up?

“Said Index must be calculated bimonthly, on the last day of the months of January, March, May, July, September and November”, according to Resolution 1293/2022 of the Ministry of Health, published on June 30.

However, the Resolution established for what this second semester, “the Health Cost Index will be calculated on the last day of the months of June, August and October 2022” and must be informed to the affiliates 30 days in advance. From this it follows that the next increases are planned for August (in this case with 11.34%), October and December.

How much will prepaid go up in August?

The rise that prepaid medicine companies will apply in August will be 11.34%. In two months the quotas will increase again as a result of this index, and there will be one more increase in the year.

This will be the seventh increase in fees so far this year, after increases of 9% in January, 6% in March, 6% in April, 8% in May, 10% in June and 4% in July. Thus it reaches 68.5% in 8 months.

According to the prepaid, with this increase, an average family plan for a married couple with 2 minor children could be between $40,000 and $60,000 per month.
