Ana Gomes criticizes the attribution of more than half of the funds of the Capitalization Fund to Mario Ferreira’s company

Former diplomat Ana Gomes accused Pluris of looking like a “minus” and needing “financial assistance from the state and the EU” after Banco de Fomento approved direct investments in 12 companies, including Pluris Investments, owned by businessman Mario Ferreira.

The company, which is a shareholder of Media Capital, will receive assistance from the capitalization fund Banco de Fomento under the Capitalization and Sustainability Fund (FdCR) Strategic Recapitalization Program of almost 77 million euros. Of this amount, 40 million were approved for Pluris, more than half of the support.

Speaking to Lusa, an official source from Banco de Fomento Português explained that the application in question “is aimed solely at supporting the tourism activities of this economic group.”

“This is a quasi-equity investment operation, the terms of which are in line with the Interim Covid-19 State Assistance Program published by the European Commission in its updated version of November 18, 2021,” the same source continued in a written response.

The ex-presidential candidate took to the social network Twitter to comment on the case and oppose the attribution of the owner of TVI to the company.
