Guitarist Carlos Santana, 74, collapsed during a concert in the US on Tuesday evening. The Grammy winner was performing at the open-air Pine Knob Musical Theater in Clarkston, Michigan when he was scheduled to be examined by medical personnel. He was immediately taken to the McLaren Clarkston Medical Center emergency room.
Heat and dehydration were cited as the causes of the incident. “I forgot to eat and drink water, so I became dehydrated and passed out,” he said.
Known for hits like “Black Magic Woman” and “Oye Como Va”, he rose to fame in the late 60s with his band Santana. He is currently performing a series of concerts called “Miraculous Supernatural 2022 Tour”.
