Registered work grew 4.8% year-on-year in April

This information describes the evolution of the working population which is declared in the different administrative records that make up the social security system, clarified the report of the Ministry of Labor.

Of the total, 9,923 million people had registered salaried employment (including the private sector, the public sector and work in private homes) and 2,693 million people, self-employment (monotributists and self-employed).

The growth of registered salaried employment was led by the public sector (+0.7%, 22.3 thousand workers) and the private sector companies (+0.5%; 28 thousand workers), while the work in private homes presented a positive variation of 0.1%.

Self-employment expanded 1.1% (28.2 thousand more people) in relation to the previous month due to the increase in the number of contributors to the monotax regime (+1.6%, 28.7 thousand people), since the growth in the number of self-employed (+0.5%, 2 thousand more people) practically offset the drop in workers who adhere to the social monotax (-0.6%, 2.5 thousand fewer workers).

In the year-on-year comparison, the total of male and female workers with salaried employment expanded 3.2% (+305.7 thousand workers) due to the expansion of the private sector (+3.5%, 205.7 thousand people) and, in second order, to the growth of the public sector 3.1% (100.6 thousand more jobs) .

For his part, the work in private homes remained practically unchanged in the last year.

Finally, self-employment as a whole expanded 11% (+267 thousand workers) in the year-on-year comparison, but the growth dynamics were heterogeneous: the number of workers included in the social monotributo and monotributo showed significant growth (+20.7% and +10.4% respectively) , while the number of contributors to the self-employed regime showed a growth of 4.6%.
