The Dax came under some pressure again on Wednesday before important inflation data from the USA.

After at times clearer losses, the leading German index was still down 0.72 percent around noon and was at 12,812.81 points. The situation was similar with the MDax for medium-sized companies, which fell by 0.13 percent to 25,721.04 points. The Eurozone leading index EuroStoxx 50 lost 0.54 percent to 3468.20 points.

Business figures from companies shaped events on the German market. The special packaging manufacturer Gerresheimer scored well with investors with quarterly figures that were better than expected and a confirmation of the annual targets. The company is also optimistic about the natural gas supply. Most recently, an increase of more than five percent and the top position in the MDax were recorded.

Fraport was also one of the favorites with a price increase of more than three and a half percent. The airport operator benefited above all from a buy recommendation from the private bank Berenberg. In his study, analyst William Fitzalan Howard sees a new opportunity to rely on Fraport’s restructuring story after the recent weak share price development.

As expected, the online broker Flatexdegiro recorded less business than in the same period of the previous year due to the cooling off of investor interest in the first half of the year. The company confirmed the annual outlook that had already been lowered in June. In a challenging market environment, the company fell short of expectations in terms of completed transactions, wrote Goldman analyst Charlie Mayne. The papers were last listed more than one percent in the red.

In the Dax, Bayer went down by around one and a half percent. Traders saw it as bad for investor sentiment that an appeals court reopened a lawsuit alleging cancer risks from the weed killer glyphosate.
