The Prime Minister announced this Wednesday that the emergency pension increase envisaged in the state budget for 2022 will be paid on Friday and that new measures to attract teachers will be approved by the Council of Ministers on Thursday.
During the discussion of the vote of no confidence in Chega ao Governo, António Costa decided to jointly answer the first five questions of the parties.
In response to the parliamentary leader of the Left Bloc, the prime minister admitted that no one imagined that the country would live in such difficult times, in which there would be a scenario of war in Europe after the pandemic.
“But even in difficult circumstances, we will fulfill the fundamental promises made to the Portuguese. The budget that you failed – and which recently failed again – and finally came into effect, will allow us to pay backdated next Friday. an increase in pensions, which we have obliged all pensioners, to 1,068 euros,” he said.
On the other hand, Costa admitted that there is a “serious problem with teachers” in the country and announced the approval of the diploma in the Council of Ministers on Thursday with “two measures of paramount importance.”
“Attachment to the school of all teachers hired to fill schedules that were and remain vacant, and secondly, to allow the school to open competitions for full schedules in groups of subjects and in areas where there was a shortage, so that with full schedules they were more attractive,” he said.
