According to the survey, Argentines will opt for meetings within the home to a greater extent.

The report detected several promotions for groups of friends ranging from $1,000 to $4,000, with various options: brunch, drinks, sushi and snacks, among others.

For example, dinners include menus that start at $2,500 per person or a brunch for two from $2,800.

“In many cases, the meetings will be held in home environments that also have an impact on the gastronomic sector due to delivery,” according to the survey, which covered 4,850 cases.

The director of the consultant, Damián Di Pace, indicated that retail sales for two out of ten SMEs will have a slight increase, and for four out of ten SMEs they will remain the same, according to data from the Federation of Commerce and Industry of the City of Buenos Aires.

Also, because it falls on a Wednesday, the meetings can be held over the weekend or be more than one, the analyst said.

“Perhaps the sales opportunity is that Friendship Day falls on a Wednesday but will last until the following Sunday, so there is an opportunity for potential meetings with different groups of friends,” Di Pace pointed out.

What would you like to eat at home? was one of the queries in the report and, according to the analyst, “within the gastronomic choice of Argentines for the holiday, it is found that 40% plan to eat pizza, which is the most chosen for dinner at home with friends. Followed by the picada, with 29% preferences and the roast, with 20%”.

Specifically, the work of Focus Market showed that although there are those who choose bars (10% of those consulted), pizzerias (18%), grills (8%) or catering services (4%), the majority choose to meet with their friends in a house and buy food in a store or food establishment (32% of the total).

As for the expectations of the merchants, the survey reflected that 42% estimate that there will be no significant changes compared to a year ago, while 25% believe that “they will drop significantly” as a result of the economic context.
