Said committee is made up of the Health Quality Secretariat of the National Ministry of Health, the National Institute of Social Services for Retirees and Pensioners (PAMI), the Superintendence of Health Services (SSSalud), and delegates from the Federal Council of Health (Cofesa), who elected for their representation the Ministries of Health of the provinces of Chubut, Buenos Aires and San Juan.

The Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, stated in a statement that “Public hospitals enforce the constitutional right to health by serving the entire population that requires their services without discrimination.”

However, he pointed out that “in the event that people have social security or prepaid coverage, that cost is recovered through the decentralized management public nomenclature.”

The collection of tariffs is “important for public hospitals because it allows them to invest those recovered resources in infrastructure, equipment and also in staff incentives,” according to the minister.

The increase will be in two successive tranches that will take a first update from May 2019 to December 2020 inclusive, with an accumulated rate of 71.2%; and another update that goes from January 2021 to December 2021 inclusive, with a cumulative rate of 55.3%.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of Quality in Health, Alejandro Collia, recalled that the last update of the nomenclator was in 2019.

“The recent update plus the implementation of a computer system of the Superintendency of Health Services will speed up the billing and payment circuit, allowing hospitals to have these resources to improve the quality and safety of care in people,” the official emphasized.
