Since August, public transport in the AMBA has increased by 40%

  • From $18 to $25.25 if the route is up to 3 kilometers
  • $28 for a distance between 3 and 6 kilometers
  • $29.40 between 6 and 12 kilometers
  • $30.80 between 12 and 27 kilometers
  • $32.20 if the route exceeds 27 kilometers.

In addition, the AMBA railway services, the project expresses as minimum tickets with SUBE card the following amounts: $17.25 for the Mitre, Sarmiento and San Martín lines; $11.25 for the Urquiza; $10.75 for Roca and Belgrano Sur; and $9.50 for the North Belgrano.

The increases will also impact the rate charts of the long-distance branches that connect the City of Buenos Aires with Mar del Plata, Bahía Blanca, Pinamar, Justo Daract, Tucumán, Córdoba, Rosario and Pehuajó; as well as in regional interurban services in Chaco, Salta, Neuquén, Entre Ríos, Córdoba and Misiones and in extended local services in the Province of Buenos Aires.

The Ministry of Transportation “proposed to deepen the benefit by including new affinity groups or social attributes and increasing the discount percentage applicable by virtue of said benefit, from FORTY PERCENT (40%) to FIFTY-FIVE PERCENT (55%)” . The annex also states that “in order to continue protecting the sectors of the population with the greatest social vulnerability (…) it is planned to continue assisting users of public passenger transport services by automobile and rail of an urban and Suburban city of national jurisdiction, who have the SUBE Card” and will have a discount of up to 55%.

At the same time, they underline that the benefit of granting fare advantages to those users who must make trips with transfers will be maintained, being cumulative with respect to the benefit that was being granted to vulnerable groups.

In this sense, Transportation indicated that “it is timely to implement an instance of citizen participation so that citizens can express themselves in the modification of the rate schedules applicable to the services in question, and thus guarantee the principles of equality, publicity, informality and Gratuity for all Argentine men and women”.

In this way, citizens are invited to express their opinions and proposals for three business days starting tomorrow and through the website www.argentina.gob.ar/transporte. All comments will be published and will not be bindingthey indicated.

In the midst of the conflict with transportation, José Troilo, President of the Business Chamber of Passenger Transport, assured two days before that the ticket “should be around $150.” “The companies were assuming higher costs. Of a company’s income, 90% are subsidies. Only 10% enter by direct ticket through the SUBE Card. The value of the ticket should be $150,” he explained in dialogue with a channel of news.

A company receives approximately 1,000,000 pesos per group per month and the delay in compensation paid by the State means that they do not have the resources to be able to afford services normally. From the cameras they assure that the companies are taking charge of the price spike of the last months, due to the delay in the crediting of the money and the delay in updating the funds. “The debt is month to month and at this time it is in the order of 18,000 million pesos”, Troilo revealed while indicating that the rate delay is from 2019.

In this way, the Government gives a first signal of reduction of subsidies.
