VW boss Diess has to go: too much and too fast

VW boss Herbert Diess has to leave surprisingly. The problems are piling up at Germany’s largest industrial group. The way to the software and electronics group is more difficult than expected.

In the Berlin offices of the programming company Cariad, not far from Alexanderplatz, nobody should notice that they are part of something bigger. The fitters have set up an old VW bus in the entrance area from tarpaulins, a reminiscence of carefree times. Upstairs, colorful cubes of seating are scattered between the workplaces, everything here breathes the typical Berlin start-up spirit: young, fresh, unconventional and far away from post ambitions and jealousies. Far away from Volkswagen, the parent company in Wolfsburg.
