Thus, in the first five months of the year sales in supermarkets accumulated an increase of 2.6%, in shopping malls the improvement was 62.9% and in wholesale self-services 4.6% compared to the same period in 2021.
In the large shopping centers, total sales at current prices in May, compared to those of the same month of the previous year, reflected that the items with the greatest increase were: “Fun and recreation”, 2,940.8%; “Clothing, footwear and leather goods”, 710.5%; “Toy shop”, 671.9%; and “Bookstore and stationery”, 525.4%, against year-on-year inflation of 60.7%, according to the Indec.
In supermarkets, on the other hand, 37.9% of sales were paid with credit cards; 27.8% with debit cards; 29.4% in cash and the remaining 5% through “other means”.
