Since the bombing began, numerous Ukrainian companies have been relocating their production to Lviv, the relatively safe metropolis in the west. Industrial ruins and unused workshops experience an unexpected rebirth. The metropolis profited from the war, but was increasingly struggling with logistical problems.
The industrial ruins on the outskirts of Lviv (Lemberg) don’t look very inviting. The plaster is crumbling from the walls of the huge halls, and many windows have been broken. But almost ten years after production stopped, the workshops of the old Lviv bus factory are experiencing an unexpected revival. Dozens of new companies have taken up residence here, most of them only in the past five months, after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. They have relocated to Lviv from the areas directly affected by the war in order to be able to continue their work.
