The optician group Fielmann expects a significant increase in profits in the current year. The pre-tax result is expected to rise from 175.5 million to more than 200 million euros, as the company announced when it presented detailed figures for the first half of the year.
The company was thus a little more optimistic than in July, when the company had forecast around 200 million euros for the current year. External sales are still expected to be more than 1.9 billion euros.
There were hardly any changes in the figures for the first half of the year compared to the provisional figures announced in July. External sales rose by 29 percent to just under 920 million euros compared to the corona-affected period in the previous year, while profit before taxes rose by 156 percent to 96 million euros. Fielmann benefited from the relaxation of the corona measures and from acquisitions.
