Corona has changed the working conditions of managers: Virtual work makes it easier to plan meetings, but makes informal exchange with employees more difficult. “Leading virtual or hybrid teams are new challenges that managers are struggling with,” says Robert Breitenecker, scientific director of the Limak Austrian Business School in Linz. This requires targeted further training in the areas of “New Work” and “New Leadership”. Limak is responding to the challenges with targeted offers: The “Leadership Experience” university course helps to reflect on previous management behavior and expands skills. In the “Master in Management Leadership Excellence and New Work” course, your own leadership behavior, roles in teams and leadership in an organizational context are examined.
To broaden one’s horizon
Both courses start in autumn: Limak and OÖN award four partial scholarships (information in the info box). It is aimed at executives who are regularly confronted with challenging management and team-related tasks in their everyday work and who are interested in “New Work” management and leadership approaches. One of the former participants who is already benefiting from the knowledge acquired is Michael Grabmann, Manufacturing Manager at Lenzing Plastics: “The course offers theoretical background combined with practical tools. These are already applied in the course using case studies to ensure successful implementation in the professional environment to allow.” The exciting insights that experts provide would expand the personal horizon of experience.
“Not everything that a manager tries will work right away,” says Breitenecker. Perseverance and patience are required here. It is important to reflect on your own management style and to learn from mistakes. (prel)
