“Obviously, this is the topic that I would call the most disturbing at the moment,” the manager said, answering a question about the current situation at a press conference on the bank’s half-year results, the consolidated profit of which was 201 million euros. in the first half of the year, 9% more than the same period last year.
Inflation, he noted, “is mainly due to two movements that are difficult to counteract at the moment,” added the executive president of BPI.
“I don’t think it’s even because of higher interest rates that they will be thwarted,” he continued.
