This Thursday, PSD asked the government about “inconsistencies identified by the Accounting Chamber” in the purchase of computer materials, wanting to know when all students will receive computers and Internet connection systems.
The question PSD posed to Parliament this Thursday follows a report published by the Court of Accounts (TdC) “regarding an audit of the acquisition by the Ministry of Education of laptops and communications equipment for students covered by Social Action, in order to verify the legality of six public procurement procedures, relevant contracts and their material and financial performance.
The report, according to the Social Democrats, concludes that the Ministry of Education paid about 1.3 million euros for contracts to connect computers intended for students during the period during which the service was not used, while also finding that that none of the expected delivery times were met, among other inconsistencies.
