Chile’s economy recorded the lowest growth since the beginning of 2021

The seasonally adjusted series showed a fall of 0.2% compared to May and increased by 3.8% in twelve months, figures that are in line with what was projected by experts.

The entity in charge of publishing the report explained that the increase in Imacec was mainly influenced by the activities of serviceswhile trade and the production of goods fell.

For its part, the bulletin indicates that the seasonally adjusted Imacec fell due to the performance of the mining and services, a result that was partly offset by the increase in other goods and industry.

“The non-mining Imacec presented a growth of 4.7% in twelve months, while in seasonally adjusted terms, it grew 0.1% compared to the previous month,” the report adds.

The Central Bank of Chile, in the last Report of Monetary politics (Ipom), slightly raised the projections for increase for 2022 going from a range of 1 – 2% to 1.5 – 2.25%, and projected that by 2023 growth will contract.
