With the new subsidy scheme, the Government seeks a cut of almost one point of GDP

The reduction of the fiscal deficit was one of the objectives outlined by the management of Sergio Massa as the new Minister of Economy. In this sense, according to estimates made in official offices, more than $500,000 million could be saved due to the impact of segmentation and greater savings in household consumption in one year at current values. This number, however, cannot be projected to 2023 because prices and inflation, among other variables, have not yet been defined. However, what they do estimate is that it would contribute almost one point of GDP, official sources told Ámbito. So far this year, if the budgetary deviations from the IMF goal are projected “globally”, they reach 0.7 percentage points, with which today we would be talking about a deficit equivalent to 3.2% of the product.
