Subsidies for long-distance buses for disabled passes are updated

The transfers are settled according to the data that arise from the Free Ticket Reservation Management Systemand take into account the distance traveled by passengers who have accessed the free passes and the current average rate base.

Through that system, people with a certificate of disability or Incucai transplant credential can access their free passes in national jurisdiction services digitally on the website of the National Commission for Transport Regulation (CNRT), or in person at the ticket offices.

Based on the information provided by the CNRT, the Undersecretary of Automotive Transport Periodically performs the liquidation of the compensations to each of the borrowing companies.

The new update of the caps will apply to all settlements from May of this year onwards, as indicated by the regulations.

The decision is based on the registering an increase in the total number of passages granted to beneficiaries in the last six months, which led to a decrease in coverage percentage compensation on each ticket.

For this reason, the Long Distance Business Chamber (Celadi), the Argentine Association of Automotive Transport (Aaeta), and the Passenger Autotransport Business Chamber (CEAP) requested from the Transportation portfolio “an urgent update of the amounts”, because they were equivalent to “less than 15% of the rates actually charged”according to the recitals of the resolution.
