Digitalos: With just a few clicks to the coveted trophy

The Digitalos is picking up speed: For the fourth edition of the digital prize of the OÖ Nachrichten, new applications arrive at the business editorial department every day. All those who excel in the digital world can submit their documents at any time to: digitalos.nachrichten.at

The Regau company Lica Life Care has already done this. The company has made a name for itself in the category “Digital Start-ups” advertised with an app of the same name. Michael Schiemer and Wolfgang Bayer want to offer digital help in everyday care and support. Lica supports caregiving relatives with advice and makes it possible to easily document relevant information, the idea providers assure.

According to Bayer and Schiemer, there are currently almost a million people in Austria who are lay people looking after someone at home. Because of the demographic development, this number will continue to rise.

The medical technology manufacturer Sendance from Linz also submitted its application documents online in the “digital start-ups” category.

The team around the head of the company Robert Koeppe develops soft and stretchable sensors that are integrated into custom-molded orthopedic devices to test their effectiveness and safety. This should massively increase the efficiency of orthopedic therapies. The invention from Linz is used, for example, in custom-made shoe inserts for diabetics.

Applications for the Digitalos are still possible until September 3rd in three other categories: Digital Personality, Digital Transformation and Digital Commitment. the “Digital Personality” is a category in which people from digital public life with original content are sought and awarded.

In the category “Digital Transformation” companies are sought that have changed their business model from analogue to digital, have developed a secure future concept and can thus stand out from the competition.

The application category “Digital Engagement” in turn, highlights associations, institutions, networks and groups that have distinguished themselves through digital commitment to society – and not least also in times of the corona pandemic.
