The deadline to apply for exceptional support in the amount of 24.3 million euros for agricultural producers affected by restrictions related to the war in Ukraine ends this Friday.
This amount is intended to contribute to the economic sustainability of the sector, its maintenance and ability to supply the market.
Of the total amount, 13.5 million euros are allocated to the cow’s milk sector, 6.4 million euros to the pork sector and 4.4 million euros to the poultry sector.
This support “took into account the greater impact of rising costs on factors of production recorded since the start of the war, namely animal feed, energy and fertilizer, as well as the support that is applied in the member states of the European Union.” The union is geographically closer and competes in the same markets as Portugal,” the chief executive said in July.
Added to this support is an exceptional measure dedicated to the continent, funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EADER) in the amount of 57.1 million euros.
