According to the official statistics agency, in June 2022, compared to the same month in 2021, the main positive impact was observed in the basic metal industries, which presented a level of utilization of the installed capacity of 84.2%, higher than that registered in the same month of the previous year (78.2%), related, essentially, to the greater production of crude steel.
In another order, the metalworking industry except automotive registered a level of utilization of the installed capacity of 59.8%, higher than the same month of the previous year (56.0%), mainly related to the greater manufacture of agricultural machinery .
Food products and beverages exhibited a level of utilization of the installed capacity of 65.4%, higher than that registered in June of the previous year (63.2%)mainly linked to the growth in the level of use of the water and soft drink processing plants and the beef production plants.
Likewise, oil refining showed an installed capacity utilization level of 81.2%, higher than in June 2021 (73.6%), based on a higher level of crude oil processing.
While the automotive industry showed a level of utilization of the installed capacity of 59.8%, higher than in June of the previous year (51.9%), related to a greater number of units manufactured by the automotive terminals.
On the other hand, non-metallic mineral products registered an installed capacity utilization level of 82.7%, higher than the same month of 2021 (74.2%), as a consequence, mainly, of a greater production of cement, glass and plasterboard.
Textile products exhibited an installed capacity utilization level of 67.6%, higher than that registered in the same month of the previous year (62.1%), as a result of an increase in the production volume of cotton yarn and of tissues.
It should be noted that the indicator for the use of installed capacity in industry measures the proportion used, in percentage terms, of the productive capacity of the industrial sector. The survey comprises a panel of between 600 and 700 companies.
